A MOST FORBIDDEN LOVE

They call him Chance, though in truth the Marquess of Fairlamb feels bitterly cursed: A long-ago family feud is still standing in the way of his heart’s desire. Lady Tempest is the daughter of his father’s sworn enemy, the Marquess of Norgrave. She is beautiful, innocent, and utterly untouchable. But some seductions are just too good to resist…

Turns out Tempest is a woman of her own mind―and a true romantic who will overcome every obstacle to be with the man of her dreams. But the odds are against handsome, wickedly charming Chance if he intends to win Tempest as his bride. Will he choose loyalty to his family―or risk everything he has for the woman he yearns for?

A historical romance set in 1816 England with all the glamour we’ve come to love about the time period. It doesn’t take long into the story when Chance and Tempest meet, from there the story moves at a fast pace. The writing is excellent and I had a hard time putting the book down. The story has a bit of mystery to it because Chance and Tempest know their families will forbid their relationship. The two families have been feuding since both fathers were young men, but the younger generation doesn’t know why. Chance and Tempest’s brother, Oliver have been fighting with each other since they were much younger which adds even more problems since they all move in the same circles. Chance’s best friends are always willing to help the couple with their plans but also worry about what will happen if they are caught.

This is book 2 in The Masters of Seduction series and I hope the rest of the books will include Chances friends, Thorn and St.Lyon finding their own lady loves.

A very good book. I recommend it with high marks to historical romance readers or anyone who enjoys a good romance.
